It's great to see the power of the charisms, technology and personal relationships converge and form a new apostolate. Friend of the Siena Institute, Joanne Wakim, has launched a new nonprofit, Catholic Global Impact (CGI). Thanks, Bernadette, for posting it. Joanne does such creative things!
She is one of the group of lay professionals in Atlanta who told me they felt called out of ecclesial ministry into the marketplace and that it was going through the Called & Gifted that made them aware that this was "legit" choice for a Catholic disciple to make.
That's the exciting thing about discernment. When discernment is really happening, people are drawn into all kinds of out of the box directions. Most certainly, God's call, especially for lay people is *not* just in one direction: into ecclesial ministry.
