My Old Ducky Home

I'm in a Starbucks coffeeshop in which I've paid to use wifi for 24 hours. You know Starbucks is named after a Herman Melville character in Moby Dick who is addicted to coffee, don't you? Thanks Pat A., for the tip on that!
My tea came in a Venti cup with "The Way I See It" #224 on it.
"Darwinism's impact on traditional social values has not been as benigh as its advocates would like us to believe. Despite the efforts of its modern defenders to distance themselves from its baleful social consequences, Darwinism's connection with eugeneics, abortion and racism is a matter of historical record. And the record is not pretty."
Dr. Jonathan Wells, biologist and author of "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Darwinism and Intelligent Design."
The irony is striking, since Eugene is the progressive heart of Oregon, in which abortion, "death with dignity (a.k.a., euthanasia) and elements of racism (prospective black athletes at the UO ask, "are there any blacks in Eugene?") still exist. Not to mention the KKK-dominated state legislature tried to ban private education back in the 1920's. The only private education at the time was Catholic, of course.
Still, I love Eugene. And as Cardinal George has pointed out, "What you do not love, you cannot evangelize."
